FAQ
We typically start the process by sending an experienced designer to your home to measure the existing space, take pictures, and answer any questions you might have. Once we have an idea of what you want to achieve, we will put a preliminary design and estimate together for you. This process usually takes a few weeks.
Please see Showcase Kitchens’ Remodeling Investment Guide to learn about project costs.
Typically, you can expect a full kitchen remodel to take around 2 to 3 months from start to finish. This will vary depending on the size and scope of your renovation.

Showcase Kitchens has a handful of great local contractors that they recommend to clients by determining a “good fit,” which means assessing project type, timeframe, budget, and personality. The client hires the contractor directly because Showcase Kitchens wants the client’s budget to be used in the best possible way. The client pays the contractor directly, and there are no additional markups or fees. It is a great, cost-effective way to save money.
We coordinate the process from design through completion, working with trusted local trades and keeping communication clear throughout your remodel.
You will always know who to contact and what is happening next.
After Showcase Kitchens has established a budget for materials and labor, they will charge a design deposit, usually $500. This is a small investment and allows the designer to spend a little more time on your project. At this point, Showcase Kitchens does not release any of their plans or renderings to you. If you would like to have a copy of your preliminary plans and rendering to take home, Showcase Kitchens charges roughly 10% of the project cost. The design deposit and the 10% deposit would both go toward your purchase with Showcase Kitchens. Both deposits are non-refundable.
Designers at Showcase Kitchens pride themselves on their vast knowledge and experience. Time is valuable, and clients can expect Showcase Kitchens’ designers to answer questions, be available for consultations, and give their best ideas and design advice while being compensated.
Layout changes, custom cabinetry or specialty finishes, electrical or plumbing upgrades, and structural adjustments that include beams and posts.
Showcase Kitchens is upfront with costs so there is full transparency, but unforeseen issues can arise during construction. We do our best to avoid these and keep the project within budget and moving forward.
Living through a kitchen or bath remodel can be challenging. Contractors can coordinate with homeowners to create a small working kitchen while under renovation. This usually includes a refrigerator, sink, and counter in an accessible room. Clients may find themselves eating a lot of takeout or frequenting restaurants, but it will be worth it in the end.
Contractors will do their best to block off rooms being remodeled so dust and debris are minimal in other areas of the home.
